Sympton Management

Symptom management involves treating only the symptoms of endometriosis, usually the pain, without attempting to treat the underlying disease. It usually involves the use of various analgesic or anti-inflammatory drugs if the pain is intermittent, or a range of pain management techniques if the pain is chronic and ongoing.

Some women may find it useful to use remedies such as hot water bottles, exercise, relaxation, controlled breathing and positive thinking to alleviate pain.

Pain clinics can help you manage chronic pain by providing expert advice, support and tailoring individual programs.

A close relationship with your health professionals, including a counsellor, will help to support you through your treatments.
